The U.S. Department of Agriculture‚Äôs Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has amended its existing emerald ash borer (EAB), Agrilus planipennis, regulations.  Changes include an expansion of the quarantine areas in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio and restrictions on the interstate movement of regulated articles from these areas.  Intensive surveys conducted by APHIS and cooperators confirmed infestations of EAB outside the quarantined areas, prompting the need to expand the quarantine.

Areas include parts of the Grand Traverse and Montcalm counties, Michigan; Lima and Newbury townships in LaGrange County, Indiana; and Auglaize, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wood counties, Ohio.
