Subject: Bactrocera zonata trapped in Israel

The first suspected interception of peach fruit fly, Bactrocera zonata, was reported recently by the National Plant Protection Organization of Israel. A single male B. zonata was discovered in a dectection trap in mid-November, 2000, at the border with Egypt and the Palestinian Autonomy. This pest is known to occur in Egypt.
