Subject: Brazil creates taskforce to manage citrus sudden death

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture along with the governor of Sao Paulo, the vice-governor, and the Secretary of Agriculture and Food Supply of the State of Sao Paulo, officially launched the creation of a taskforce to fight the citrus sudden death (MSC) disease. Public and private sectors of Sao Paulo were asked to participate as members. The taskforce is divided into three subgroups: Sanitary Defense, Research and Development, and Communications. Each will start their respective duties in March, 2003.
