These Pest Reports are intended to comply with the International Plant Protection Convention's Standard on Pest Reporting, endorsed by the Interim Commission on Phytosanitary Measures in March 2002.

Report: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recently (June 27, 2011) updated the "List of North American Gypsy Moth [Lymantria dispar dispar] Infested or Suspected Infested Areas of Canada".

 

New additions to the list of already infested or suspected infested areas of Canada include the following:

ONTARIO: Brant County - City of Brantford;  Community of Chatham-Kent;  City of Kawartha Lakes;  Muskoka District;  District of Parry Sound;  City of Toronto;  Regional Municipality of York.

Under IPPC Standards, North American Gypsy moth is considered present, only is some parts of Canada, and under official control.
