Title: First report of Argyrotaenia tucumana as a pest

Summary:

Significance: In a 2018 report, a larva of the moth Argyrotaenia tucumana (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) was observed feeding on cultivated Prunus persica (peach) fruit in Argentina (Gonsebatt et al., 2018). This is the first report of peach as a host of A. tucumana. When A. tucumana was described in 2004 (Trematerra and Brown, 2004), the host association of this moth was previously unknown. Argyrotaenia tucumana has only been reported from Argentina (Trematerra and Brown, 2004) and is not known to occur in Canada, the United States, or Mexico.
