Subject: Occurrences of chrysanthemum white rust in British Columbia
Publicada: November 15, 2001
Source: USDA, APHIS, PPQ
Two transient occurrences of chrysanthemum white rust, Puccinia horiana, (CWR) have been detected near Chilliwack, BC. USDA, APHIS has taken additional regulatory action to prevent the pathogen's spread into the US. All plants and propagative material, excluding seeds and cut flowers, in the genera of Dendrathema, Leucanthemella, Nipponantheum, and Ajania pacifica from all provinces of Canada will require a phytosanitary certificate issued by the CFIA, or a CFIA Greenhouse program label. Import requirements previously placed on the movement of CWR host material from Vancouver Island, BC will be superseded by these new restrictions.
